My goal is to help you feel good about where you live, work, shop and play by keeping your carpets, furniture and tile clean using non-toxic, all-natural cleaners.
FIVE STEP CARPET CARE
Our solution is non-toxic, colorless, biodegradable, hypoallergenic and contains no bleach, enzyme or soap.

We use an industrial strength, hepa filtered vacuum to remove all dirt from your carpets.

We then apply our “Five Step” solution to the carpets using a commercial, hand held sprayer, avoiding the use of any long hoses being drug over the floors.

Our rotary activated brush head loosens and lifts embedded soil from your carpets.

The soil is then removed as it adheres to the looped bonnets which have now replaced the brush head.

Finally, we hand groom and fluff your carpet pile to ensure a soft texture as it dries.
No Project Too Big or Too Small
Nevada dirt is tough! It’s dusty when dry and muddy when wet. Vacuuming and mopping regularly keeps Nevada dirt at bay, but over time, stains and high-traffic areas begin to show on our carpets and furniture.
Whatever you do, don’t reach for retail spot removers. They generally make matters worse! Retail carpet products tend to leave a sticky residue that attracts dirt.
Our specially formulated solution binds to dirt particles in a process known as “encapsulation”. This process works because any dirt potentially left behind forms into microscopic dirt crystals that will be removed the next time the carpet is vacuumed.

Carpet Care Tips
Carpet is always healthier, looks better, smells fresher and lasts longer if it’s cleaned every 6 months. Ask us for a recommendation on your individual cleaning frequency.
Once you’ve had your carpet professionally cleaned by Five Step Carpet Care, we recommend the following tips for maintaining your carpets, furniture and floors.
Post Cleaning Care
After cleaning, your carpets should be completely dry in approximately 3-4 hours. During the drying time, avoid walking on the carpet. If you must, make sure your shoes or feet are clean. Never place wood or metal furniture on damp carpet as the stain from the wood can leach into the carpet and the metal can leave rust stains.
Vacuum Once a Week
Vacuuming is the single most important step in maintaining your carpet’s life and beauty. We recommend vacuuming at least once a week with a good quality vacuum cleaner. Adjust your vacuum for optimal performance by placing a penny on the carpet one inch in front of the vacuum. Turn on the vacuum and watch the penny. If it vibrates, your vacuum is set to the correct height. If the penny is not vibrating, adjust the vacuum height until it does. Use a crevice tool with your vacuum to clean around carpet edges at least once a month. Even the best vacuums can’t reach between the carpet and baseboards. This is especially important with light colored carpeting.
Avoid Commercial Spot Removers
Avoid using most retail spot removers. Many contain some type of soap that may take out the spot but leave a sticky residue behind which attracts dirt and causes the spot to come back. Our spot remover has no sticky residue and does not contain soap. In an emergency, cold water and a cotton rag is a safe substitute. The more of these products that are applied prior to our arrival, the harder it is to remove the stain. Stains are always easiest to remove just after they occur. When in doubt, just give us a call. We’re always happy to help!
Alternate Traffic Patterns
Alternate traffic patterns where possible. Rearrange furniture or walk through a room a different way so that wear is even and no one particular area receives constant traffic. Levitate through the room whenever you can! 🙂 Step over areas where carpet joins another type of flooring. These areas get dirty the fastest as typically, the carpet is higher than the hard surface flooring it transitions to, causing it to act like a doormat. This creates an excessive pressure point on the carpet and caused it to become dirty and wear faster. Simply step OVER this problem area. Remember, no carpet cleaner can repair carpet fibers once they are broken down.
Repair Problems as They Occur
Repair carpet problems as they occur. In most cases, small problems become big problems if left unattended. If you see ripples in your carpet, loose tack strips or any other type of problem, contact us. We can arrange for a carpet repair expert to stretch or otherwise repair your carpet problems. When purchasing new carpeting always keep a remnant on hand for those unforeseen problems down the road. This is also the best time to set up a cleaning schedule to maintain your carpet at its best!
